I think you (Adam and Suzie) have done the right thing at every step in this process (much better than I could have in similar circumstances).
Having had four children in Australia in the 11 years and the emphasis that the medically trained staff (nurses, midwives, doctors) have placed on the advantages of breastfeeding, I'm surprised that anyone would encourage formula. (We did use formula as a supplement during one ephisode of mastitis).
The ironic part about the whole thing is that to achieve a long-term solution, we need to reward the transgressors. The only long term solution I can see is to increase DoCS funding to the level where they can afford to recruit and retain good, qualified staff and to be able to provide them with the training they need and the time to be able to properly investigate complaints.
The real cuprit behind all this is governments that insist on cutting funding to public services to the point where they become dysfunctional.
We need organisations such as DoCS, but we need them to be able to do their job properly.
This incident seems to me to be the sort of thing you would naturally expect as a consequence of governments who see tax cuts as more important than providing real public services.

I was gieved and angry at what happen!!!! Someone should be sacked!!! the copper aswell - Docs need to
have thier wings clipped, to be able to do this thing with no fair "due process". it is sickening Want to comment on this? HAVE YOUR SAY |
