Just read your chronology of events. We've had a lot to do with DOCS. Adopted our daughter last year from China. Incompetence and stupidity are common. Glad that you were able to stick up for yourselves and you son.
I wondered if you had come across a presentation by American anthropoligist Kathy Dettwyler that discusses how use of growth charts to look at an individual child is a gross misuse of such charts? My background is that I am a researcher in the area of human lactation ( can fully sympathise with yor wife's distress over what her child would be fed and over the stupidity of their ignorance about breastfeeding) and heard Kathy speak on this topic some years ago. I can send you a copy of her abstract if you wish
